Head, Impact Debt Fund
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the investment strategy, and operational model post-CMA licensing.
- Drive fund mobilization, investor engagement, and capital raising.
- Monitor portfolio performance, compliance and impact metrics.
- Manager borrower relationships and credit risk.
- Develop partnerships with DFIs, HNIs, institutional investors, SMEs and intermediaries
- Represent the Fund in industry foras.
- Prepare investor reports and host investor meetings
- Implement and impact measurement framework
- Prepare annual impact reports for stakeholders
- Ensure compliance to investment policy, governance standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Build and lead a specialist investment and impact team
- Performing any other duty as may be assigned from time to time
Qualification, Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 12 years’ experience in investment management, private equity, impact investing or structured finance.
- Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Post graduate qualifications (MBA with specialization in Finance or Economics) preferred.
- Certified Financial Analyst or Certified Public Accountant (Kenya) or Associate of the Chartered Certified Accountants or Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers or equivalent recognized accounting qualification.
- Proven track record in debt or blended finance.
- Experience in credit analysis, financial modelling, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge of impact investing frameworks.
- Strong exposure to ESG/impact frameworks
- Strong stakeholder diplomacy and board-level engagement capability.
- Commitment to ethics, impact finance, and responsible business.
- Proven track record of designing and executing growth strategies that resulted in measurable market expansion and revenue growth.
- Extensive experience in partnership development and strategic alliances.
- Sound understanding of the Kenya, East Africa financial services regulatory landscape.
- Knowledge of financial services sectors, specifically; pension, investment advisory, asset management, insurance, and fintech.
